Radon Testing

Radon testing made easy.

Roberts Radon strives to make radon testing a simple, streamlined process that we handle from start to finish. We do this by giving our customers options. For booking a radon test, you can call/text, email or book online through our website. As for payment, we accept cash, check or electronic invoices will be sent via email to be paid with card.

Since the enactment of Montgomery County Bill 31-15, and Montgomery County Bill 26-22, we often find ourselves working with many real estate agents. We understand their busy schedules and in order to provide convenient radon testing options for them including SentriLock and Pay from Closing!.

Radon testing made smart.

We only use state-of-the-art technology to test for radon. Our Continuous Radon Monitors (CRMs) have tamper-evident technology, take hourly readings for radon and provide us and our customers with comprehensive reports. We don’t use other means for radon testing, for example charcoal canisters take much longer since they must be sent to a lab, provide less information and could be placed incorrectly resulting in an invalid test.

The Testing Process

Drop-off: Our AARST-NRPP certified radon technician will come to the property and place the radon test according to EPA protocol. This takes about 5-10 minutes.

Test: The test will collect data for 48 hours (2 full days, unless an extended test is requested). Please keep closed-home conditions or the test will be invalidated. All outside doors and windows must remain closed for 12 hours before and for the duration of the radon test. Please do not point fans in the direction of the testing equipment. Please do not use any devices that bring in or recycle the outside air.

Pick-up: Our certified staff will return to retrieve our CRM(s). Again, only taking 5 to 10 minutes to do so.

Test results: Between 5:00pm-7:00 pm on the same day that we retrieve the test, we send the results via email. We can send to multiple email addresses. Results can be read on site, if requested at the time of booking.
